Worship Experiences
Most churches call the time that they gather, most often on Sundays, worship services. Here at The Ridge, I prefer to call them “Worship Experiences”. It is my desire to craft “worship experiences” that will more readily help you connect with God.
Now, here’s the rub. The word “worship”. For those of you that would connect with a more traditional worship experience, you probably have been sitting in a pew for years. Most likely, you have a faith that you call your own and you understand the idea of worship, as a means to express your love, awe and gratitude to a God who is not only an active part of our lives, but who also loves you dearly.
For those who may relate to a more contemporary worship experience, things get a tad more confusing, and I realize that. For some who desire a more modern worship experience, you have already established an understanding of what worship is. But for many others, the idea of “worship” is a bit foreign, odd, unusual. You may be in the early stages of exploring what faith means to you. You may not have a good understanding, or any understand of who and what God is. And what’s up with this whole “Trinity” thing? I get it!
For better or worse, we need to put a name to everything. And I try to keep that in mind. Whether you have an established faith and are looking for a church you can call home, or you are just exploring your faith, our contemporary worship experience may be for you, because “worship” is not only our way of expressing our understanding of who God is but it also our way of learning who God is.
So come and worship with us, come and explore with us, come and learn with us. If you have questions, doubts, concerns, then The Ridge may be just the place for you.
So what do these two worship experiences look like? Well, I’m glad you asked.
Our Traditional Worship Experience
Our Traditional Worship Experience meets at 9:00. Here, we cherish pews, pulpits, light streaming through the stained glass, the deep resonant sound of a pipe organ, and the classic touch of a Grand piano. Voices lifting high in praise of God, an energetic congregation joining in as we sing familiar hymns, passionate preaching, and on the first Sunday of every month, a community gathering to receive Holy Communion. We participate with hearts that are familiar with the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostles Creed. It is these things that make up the texture and taste of the traditional worship experience. An experience to create passionate, uplifting, and spirit-filled worship that connects individuals to friends, to a cause greater than themselves, and to the kind of worship that fills an empty soul and charges their spiritual batteries for the week ahead.
Contemporary Worship Experience
Our contemporary service meets at 10:30. This service has a more casual atmosphere, but is encompasses the same passionate excellence for drawing people together in worship and exploration of and to God that is a distinctive characteristic of The Ridge.
It is a different style of music utilizing guitars, keys, drums and technology. Oh! And it is a bit louder as well. Sermons are crafted to not only teach but also created an opportunity to help you learn, explore and grow in your faith.
And it is a place to find meaning relationships as well. And like our Traditional Worship experience, we serve Communion on the first Sunday of every month but with a bit more of an explanation of the why and meaning behind it.

The Hope
Some time back, I felt like God spoke to my heart. One simple sentence, “Church done differently”. I am still trying to figure out what that means. I am still learning, as we all are. I would encourage you to come and learn along with me, at The Ridge.
We understand finding a church home is difficult, so we strive to create a worship experience that allows people, from all walks of life, to seek God personally and communally. Our hope is that every person who attends The Ridge feels God’s presence, a sense of warmth, and genuine authenticity from the pastor, staff, and church family. You are invited to come as you are and be a part of this wonderful Christian community at The Ridge! – Pastor Anchul
